Prior to joining the DIFC, Mr. Visser practiced as a financial services lawyer for more than 20 years, primarily focusing on multi-jurisdictional investment structures, funds, asset management and regulatory matters in emerging markets.

Mr. Visser holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Capital Markets Law (LLM) from the University of Johannesburg. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Law (LLB) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law from the University of the Witwatersrand. He also completed the Oxford Fintech Programme at the Saïd Business School in August 2018.
